Clock Setting

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Just bought a 2004 Fabia Vrs and since the battery was disconnected to do some work the time of day clock has been showing the wrong time and I can't find out how to adjust it.

The time of day is one of the settings available on the trip computer which is in the tachometer face along with MPG, range etc, all of which works and can be set up with ease but not, it seems, the clock.

I don't have an owners manual for the car, but do have the download one from this forum. However the download manual does not acknowledge that the clock function is on the trip computer!

According to the download the clock is part of the display in the speedometer and is easily adjusted (in fact in just the same way as my last car) by tweeking the trip odometer reset button from side to side. All this button does in my car is reset the trip though.

Can any of you fine fellows help out a new boy with this little niggle?

Cheers, Bigoffy

You've found the right thing.

In thoery, unless it's broken pushing it into the car, towards the engine, resets it. By turning it, but NOT pressing it in, you should be able to adjust the time. Think one way is minutes, the other hours, but once you see how it works it's dead easy to do.

Although if this doesn't work then :S I'm afraid.

Welcome too. :)

thats how you do it! mine's still out from when the clocks were changed months ago i might just leave it coz they'll be changing again before long.

From Page 12 of the manual

Digital clock

A reset button is installed on the left below beside the speedometer for

adjusting the clock

Set hours

– Turn the reset button to the left.

Setting minutes

– Turn the reset button to the right.

When you do this you should turn and hold. it in that position than it should change the time. You should not press the button as this resets the trip.

Thanks for the fast replies guys, but it doesn't seem to apply to my car :-(

I have just got on Ebay an owners manual for a 2007 (MK1) Fabia and it lists 7 computer functions,

O/S temp

Range

Current fuel consumption

Average fuel consumption

Driving time

Distance driven

Average speed

Not necessarily in that order.

On my car there are 8 functions, number 8 being the clock, it appears between driving time and temp as I scroll through. There is no clock in the speedo face and the trip reset doodaa only pushes in to reset the trip, it shows no sign of wanting to turn in either direction.

So I'm still baffled I'm afraid, as I type it's 18.40 hrs here in Darkest Devon but my car clock says it's 02.45 hrs, which is way past my bedtime :-)

Any more thoughts Chaps?

Cheers, Goffy.

To confirm, you're talking about the end of the wiper stalk aren't you?

As we're reffering to the stick to reset the distance on the display under the total mileage of the car. If I've got the wrong idea, sorry.

Hi Triggerfish,

Yep, my clock is selected/reset etc (cept I cant do anything with the clock, just look at the wrong time :-) along with the other functions using the 2way rocker and button on the wiper stalk, all of which is displayed in the Tacho face. All that is shown in the Speedo face is total mieage and trip mileage, no clock is present there.

Just off for an evening of slot car racing at our local club, catch you (all) later.

Cheers, Goffy.

On the actual dials between the rev counter and spedo the little black stick that you use to reset the milage counter is what you turn left/right to set the time

There is no clock in the speedo face and the trip reset doodaa only pushes in to reset the trip, it shows no sign of wanting to turn in either direction.

It hardly turns - try it again

[don't push it left or right turn it/twist, trust me I gazed at my dash in bemusement too until I "clocked" it, no pun intended!

Sack cloth and ashes for Mr Banana Fingers here!

Thanks for the help, it works exactly as you guys have been trying to tell me!

What threw me off is that I can't feel or see the wotnot turning at all and that the result of making this almost nonexistant action is far from immediate. My old Nissan works the same way but needs close to a quarter turn and produces an instant change in the clock reading.

Cheers everyone, Goffy.
