Breather Pipe?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have searched the topic and found a few answers here. But most of the discussions on this topic was for VRS and the pipe is a bit different for the 1.6 that I own. I have uploaded some picture of the problem I have.

1st of all I want to make sure that it is the breather pipe.

2: Does any one have a part number for this?

3: For the VRS I read that we can use silicon replacements...is that possible for the 1.6 as well and if it is where can I find it?

4: Where does this pipe lead to and

Finally How long would it take to change this pipe.

Thank you for any suggestions and answers :)

I think it’s the crankcase ventilation hose.

One end should be connected to the breather assembly and the other to the crankcase.

After looking at VAGCAT.COM, I would hazard a guess at it being part No. 06A103217A .

As a last resort, the part number should be printed on the hose.

Whip it off and have a look. If you’re lucky, it’s held on with a jubilee clip, not the standard VAG clip. Might be wise to have a jubilee clip handy just incase cos those VAG clips are a bugger to get back on.

It shouldn’t take long to swap, depends on how cramped it is at the crankcase end of the hose tho.

If you look on ebay and type 1.8t breather hose then creation motorsport are selling them and i think they list some that will fit the 1.6 engine
