lost me??? the starter motor is wired directly to the battery via a gert big cable.. the starter solenoid is wired straight to the ignition switch.. can you be a bit more specific please

Inline fuse? Sounds like someone's been bodging at some point in the past. The starter circuit is 3 wires: Battery to motor, battery to ignition and ignition to motor - anything else wasn't put there by the factory. Plus the only possible place it might actually make sense to add an inline fuse is the radio power feed - anywhere else smacks of someone trying to 'solve' the wrong problem in the wrong way.

ah. you would never have got this one!

the wire to the starter solenoid had been inadvertently switched from the yellow wire to a green wire which is there but seems spare. that was the reason it blew this inline fuse because it all seemed to work but drew too many amps.

the other fault i had which was the wipers not working and the headlamps not working or the heater fan were all caused by this 20a inline fuse which is

in the fusebox but on a flylead. i dont even know for certain if its standard as it uses a small blade fuse unlike any of the others i can find.

anyway with the correct wire fitted to the starter solenoid and a new fuse in the 20a all is now working!!

many thanks for all your help with this one

Sounds like some very nasty bodging has gone on

Have you checked for any dampness in the fusebox ?.Common problem on Felicia's,leaking screens direct on fusebox ....
