That's about right to be honest.

I had the factory towbar prep and the OEM Westfalia detachable bar and electrics fitted prior to taking delivery of the car. Combined these way exceeded £525 quid.

I've just had a Witter towbar with detachable towball fitted with single 7 pin electrics for £375 by a local specialist. I had been quoted an additional £185 for the dedicated wiring harness though, but I decided I didn't need it.

again that is about right, skoda on the other hand comes to nearly £900!

Its a fairly big job from what I've been lead to believe.

Mechanically the rear bumper will have to come off to use the mounting points, the electrics are a bit trickier you can either bypass the car CAN bus and use bypass relays or you have a unit that talks to the CAN electrics and the car 'knows' you are towing also you might need extra wires if you tow a caravan for battery charge/fridge. cheers - Stuart

I've recently been quoted £250 for a swan neck tow bar with twin 7 pin electrics fitted at my place. I would imagine that the electrics are the bypass relay type rather than fully integrated with the canbus.

Thanks to all who got back to me am going to go for roof bars to hold bike not one that fits on tow bar as tow bar and bike holder comes to about £800 roof bars £250

might be bit late for you i got swan neck witter bar fitted by indespension

£189 00 needed relay to work with canbus but was included good job took

couple of hours only issue with this type bar when car loaded swan neck

bottoms on big speed humps would not have swan neck next time

£400 all in for a fixed whitter with twin electrics from a local specialist. This included a plug in wiring loom so no scotchlocs. I had a data download to deactivate the parking sensors and rear fog when towing. Its a propber CANBUS so the bulb warning lights work on the van. An extra (thick) cable run from the battery for the van battery/fridge circuit.

Proper job never had a problem with it.
