288mm VRS brakes 15"

Featured Replies

Do they fit under 15's?

Yes :) JulieD is running winter tyres on 15'' wheels on her vRS, and I believe TrevorB33's new wheels may be 15'' as well.

Cheers, thourght it would be ok, better safer to check 1st. Mrs runs 280mm on front of lupo on 15;s fine.

No bother :) What wheels are you thinking of putting on?

No idea. This is just a cheap daily for me so somthing cheap and maybe light, I cant resist these light things.

My TT runs Buddy club P1's which look chavey as you like but lightest wheel you can get in 18" that isnt mag or carbon etc.. I need 18's as I cant find any 17's that will clear my GT2 6 pots, however Im told teh Eneki 17's off an evo clear them so just got to find some to test before I buy. S3 17's dont clear.

Fair enough :) Might get hold of a used set of Pro Race 1.2's or something, they're very light.

Not a huge fan of Pro races on the basis that people think they are light when they just arnt really :giggle:

Havent got the numbers to hand, however stock RS4 9 spokes in 18" are lighter and I found them heavy!

17 x 7.5" Pro race 1.2 - 9kg

17 x 7.5" Buddy Club - 5.9kg

18 x x 9" Buddy Club - 6.7kg

That's me told! :rofl::thumbup:

15"pro race 1.2s weigh 14.9kgs with tyre, they were 3kgs lighter then my 15" oem steelies, im sure i could find lighter but for a hell of alot more money.

you must remeber that pro race are effectively a budget lightweight wheel comparing them to buddy clubs just no contest

Wierd - you must have had particularly heavy tyres on your oem steel wheels, or wider wheels & tyres ... my 6Jx15" oem steel wheels with new unused 195/65 snowtrac 3 tyres weighed 17 kg, (tyres for a Mk1 Octy).

i tried a couple of 15" wheels on my fabia 2.0 (which has the same 288mm brakes as a vrs but they aren't painted) and some of the vw standard fit 15" alloys wouldn't go on without a spacer

Mrs runs 280mm on front of lupo on 15;s fine.

aiy, the old g60 carrier trick

Cheers all. Tom spacers arnt an issue I was worried about the caliper catching on other part of wheel, geting right offset and spacers are no worry.

Yeah thats teh badger Tom, tho also S2 twin pots fit on that carrier :p
