am looking into this for someone as i have vcds. How do i activate the 2nd fog light and he has asked me to recode something so he can fit HIDS?

any help would be appreciated

2nd foglight can't be done on FL Octavias - that's if you were asking about them?

its a 2008 octavia. Can it be done?

VCDS coding for a nonCANbus HID kit is as follows:

Two ways of doing it:

Open controller 09 central electronics. Look at byte 2, and see if you have options in bits 18 and 19 for cold lamp diagnostics for individual lamps.

If you do, this is the coding:

Controller 09, Central Electronics/byte 0 bit 1 xenon headlights with shutter installed - unchecked/byte 2 bit 2 Cold lamp diagnostics - checked/byte 18 & 19 cold lamp diagnostics for dippedbeam headlights unchecked/byte 3 bit 4 xenon headlights without shutters installed (bi-xenon) - checked

If there are no options for byte 18 and 19, coding is this:

Controller 09, Central Electronics/byte 0 bit 1 xenon headlights with shutter installed - unchecked/byte 2 bit 2 Cold lamp diagnostics - unchecked/byte 3 bit 4 xenon headlights without shutters installed (bi-xenon) - checked
