Upgraded throttle bodies

Featured Replies

Hello fellow felly fanatics (try saying that 3 times in a row),

Just thinking out loud really, throttle bodies, are there any available to give more power/better sound from the 1.3mpi engine?

Cost is an issue but I am interested in possibilities.

Cheers,

- Duggie.

i take it you mean a replacement single throttle body for the original vdo unit on the mpi rather than multiple throttles per cyclinder?

there are some renault ones that are compatiible electronicallly, and some have the same bolt pattern too.

what is it you are trying to achieve?

Hey Tom, thanks for the reply mate.

Two reasons really, the car was idling high so I cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor contacts and cured that problem.

However, now, on the over - run, when taking my foot off of the accelerator to use engine braking, the car Judders really badly, any ideas on this other than problems with the newly cleaned throttle body?

Apart from that it's mainly a better engine note, more power if it is possible?

Ta!

- Duggie.

they do run a bit strange till it's re-learned it's basic settings.

when you say juddering can you be a bit more descriptive? it could be that the idle switch contacts are dirty

Ah, it might be it has to re learn settings then!

The juddering is a lot like the car is about to stall but around 1,300 Rpm, whole car lurches though.

Ta muchly!
