A pic of my Fab

Featured Replies

Here's a picture taken at yesterdays clubpolo rolling road day at Aldon Automotive of my Fabia 2.0

It produced 117bhp @5207 rpm = 89bhp at the wheels

Spot on really considering it's totally standard and only done 8k miles :thumbup:

Would it be worth investing in a Green panel filter for it ?

Maybe a filter, induction kit or an exhaust?

Any problems fitting it onto the rollers? Was there enough clearance?

Hey, another Fabia 2.0 :thumbup: Would be interested in the answer to this myself. Mine has done 31,000 miles and I replace it at the end of March with an identical model. I am tempted to stiffen the suspension a little, and if there is an easy way to get just a tad more power out of it, I would like to know. Are you planning anything like this? Why did you go for this model?

Sounds like you had a good day,any other good results from other cars there?

No problem with clearance as mine's not lowered at all. Some of the Polo's with coilovers had their bumpers practically resting on the floor after they had lowered the hydraulic rollers !.

@Mike, I would guess that the best way to increase performance a tad would be to improve on the breathing as it looks a little restrictive to me, anyone know much about the 2.0 8V ?

I was originally looking at getting a new vRS but I came across this used 2.0 with very low miles for such a good price that I couldn't justify buying a new car!. I've been very pleased with it so far, performance is good and I regularly get 35-40mpg on long runs. What colour have you ordered, any options ?

@Wrighty

Some of the modded g40 Polo's were making good power. A modified Ibiza 1.8T made over 200 and a mk4 Polo converted to 1.8T 20V also made over 200bhp.

I have ordered exactly the same as before, right down to the colour - a metallic dark blue. They have slightly darkened this since my last model. The only other options are a sunroof, mudflaps and sill protectors. The new model comes with cruise control and rear parking sensors. I am not all that bothered about them as it happens.

My consumption has averaged 34.8 mpg over 31,000 miles. It has varied between 24.5 mpg and 42.6 mpg.
