Emissions workshop warning

Featured Replies

Seema like a bit of a theme here - my EML came on about a year ago and is still on. Car (Octavia 1.9TDI 105) still runs a dream and does 60+ to the gallon. I have tried twice to get it 'fixed' - had the motorised air intake replaced at great expense, but light still on. Then tried some high pressure sensor, but again no luck. I have read the other threads on the subject and it seens the emissions workshop warning is a bit generic. How do I find out what it is? I would eventually like to sell the car, hopefully without the EML on!

Matt

You need to get the car scanned and post the fault codes.

You need a coolant temp sensor.

you need to get this moved to the Octavia forum...

I used to have a 2.0 Octavia I - the light came on and, despite being 'fixed' three times by the stealer, was still intermittently coming on 12 months later when I swapped it in for my Superb

I had the same problem with the superb 1.9 turned out to be the vacuum pipe from the brake servo to the pump so if you have a brake issue ie servo fade on idle check this pipe at entry to pump for some reason this turns on the emissions light

Had same problem. Put it through a diagnostic (cos it had to get one for something else anyway) and came back with a coolant temp sensor failure. Changed the sensor...problem solved.
