Some people are total clowns

Right, what a right old ball ache today has been. My Felly has an aftermarket Sony stereo fitted (its rubbish, isn't even RDS. It does have 2 aux sockets though!). And when they fitted it, they bodged the job big style. The whole plastic surround that the din cage slots into was loose, and the wiring was hanging down into the footwell. The joker had also fitted said plastic housing the wrong way round and had broken one of the slots that the spring clip goes in! Glad its a Felly with the pull out cubby box, as that had to come out to get to the screws for the 2 spring clips. The spring clips kept popping out when screwing the housing back in, so used copious amounts of black insulating tape to hold the little blighters in place. After lots of swearing whilst being upside down in the footwell, the damn thing is now snug and secure. The next job was, investigate the cutting out of the right speaker. Popped off the grille with a flatblade screwdriver, undid the 4 philips head screws, and bingo, one loose terminal..

Now the real ball ache began. High level brake light. It broke a while back and I heat swaged the clips back on with my trusty cheapo soldering iron. Tried again today after it split. As soon as I started to tighten the torx screws up that hold it in, the 'weld' broke again..Argh...Anyone know of a breakers yard near Ipswich? Need go robbing for a few bits & bobs.

I've removed the brake light for now. Saves it swinging about on the wires...

More bodging was required today too, as the boot trim was no longer attached, and I was fed up of catching stuff on the boot release..Tried Araldite..Aralds**te more like... So a visit to the DIY shop, a packet of M6 coachbolts, and a light tap of a hammer to get them to bite into the holes, and bingo, the main trim that covers the boot catch now attached..Still loose, but a couple of self tappers will hold it in place..A job for later in the week. (and another trip to the DIY shop..

coach bolts?? what's wrong with gaffa tape then eh? :giggle:

I bodge with style. That trim aint gonna shift in a hurry Tom. Plus the coachbolts were cheaper than a roll of gaffertape!
