Do I have a DPF?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out if I have a DPF on my car. Its a 1.9TDi PD registered in 2005 and it says in the option codes has a Euro 4 engine and the engine code is BKC.

Theres no light on the dash as far as I can see, and nothing is mentioned in the handbook.

TIA

Craig

Nope, no dpf.

Easiest way to tell: park up, stick your foot on the accelerator and if you don't see smoke then you do have a dpf, if you do then you don't have one.

It won't have one but if it did it would have '7GG' as one of the three letter codes in the front of the service book.

It does have 7GG as one of the codes, so I guess I do have one then. :(

I didn't think any 1.9 Octy was fitted with a DPF?

Sorry I missread it, its 0GG not 7GG, So its just Euro 4 compliant somehow without it?

Yep my 2.0 is Euro 4 without having a DPF. Some manufacturers began fitting a DPF to comply with Euro 4 (Peugeot/Citroen springs to mind) but some, like VAG, didn't.

I belive it is Euro 4 by way of the EGR and oxidation catalyst, the DPF is an addition in order to make the new Euro 5 regs.
