Yep it's the FL lights. One of the originals got damaged so with my £100 of free accessories vouchers I opted to replace both with the new style lights. I quite like them, and I also prefer the fact that they are black on the gutter edge rather than red. But you are correct, aftermarket sensors and a Milotec carbon boot lip protector also......oh an a Brisky sticker too (gotta have one of those). I was amazed that the whole light units were only £45 ea.

Flog your spare cluster on eBay, I almost covered the cost of the new ones by selling the old ones

My thoughts exactly ! The good one will be on the bay later this week.....

nice ! I was thinking it was the fact that with reversing sensors car had not been reversed in tut tut tut !!

Excuse the ignorance, but apart from the previously mentioned black gutter strip is the only other difference between pre-FL and FL light clusters is the centre strip that is now clear as opposed to red?

Also, Peanut, are they after market sensors you have fitted?

Cheers, Lee.

Yes, the FL cluster now no longer has the inbuilt red reflector strip. FL Octavia's (and pre-FL vRS's & Scout's) have a seperate reflector strip in the bumper. Retrofitting them to pre-FL Octavia's without the bumper mounted reflectors may cause issues come MOT time if you have a keen tester.

Other minor tweaks; the clear part of the lense (indicators / reverse) is less clear so you can't see the bulbs and the red lense has a slightly different pattern (horizontal lines vs. hexagons) making it look more modern and a little cleaner.

Fitment wise they are identical.

Are they after market sensors you have fitted?

Confirmed in post #7 I think...

think it's free listing day today...?

Where did you get the bumper protector strip, could do with one to stop the dogs scratching it.

£45 each you say? Anyone know the part numbers for hatchback lenses? Was thinking of doing this but if you can get them for that price then flog the old ones I'd be well up for it. Have a silver car so will look good I think.

I got these in December. I only paid £26 each at the time with free UK delivery to a relatives address.

I have them fitted, but I've got further plans for them..... B)

Milotec bumper protector was ordered through RSD (Road and Sports Development) in the UK. I think it was quite expense, £50 from memory. Have to say I much prefer it to the RGM Rear Guards, which just look a bit to 'plasticy' for my tastes.

Here's a link to the Milotec items they offer, if anyone's interested:

Not cheap though, by any stretch...

Not particularly tasteful too. But better than SuperSkoda!
