HELP PLEASE, ENGINE WONT STOP

Featured Replies

I have a 2004 Octavia 1.9TDI L+K,

The wife took the the car out yesterday and when she got to where she was going she turned off the ignition and removed the key, but the engine was still running. So she had to stall the car to stop the engine, then the car wouldn't start!!!

I charged the battery overnight and put it back on the car, the car now starts but still won't stop. Also none of the keyfobs work. VERY STRANGE!!!

Anybody out there had the same problem or know of a possible solution before I take it back to Skoda (and get charged a fortune).

I read someones post and they unplugged the towbar electrics, I have done this and there's no damp in the boot doorcards either.

Could be a faulty ignition barrel, so the car does not realise you have removed the key. Could have also been why you had the starting problem.
