WANTED - IDE HARD DRIVES

Featured Replies

Basically, I need about 30 working IDE HDDs.

I've been given 30 or so Dell computers by the council and they all work - just don't have HDDs.

My plan is to fix them up, and supply them to the blokes at work who don't have/can't use computers and offer lessons on them as well. Lessons will be free, but I will be charging for the computers (only to cover the HDDs and time, should be around £20 or less depending on what I can get the HDDs for). Windows XP is being provided by my employer.

So, any working IDE hard drives I would like! Thanks!

I have some, PM me, only a couple though, and i would suggest you reformat them,

Other option could be a linux live CD, such as ubuntu, so they can surf the web etc and save everything to a pen drive.

Little maintenance required then

Should be able to get a few from a school I'm volunteering at. Fingers crossed I can get them later today - but will let you know if I do get any.

*Edit* - should be able to get them in a fortnights time as they need formatting/wiping and it's 1/2 term next week. I think there were about 5 or 6, ranging from about 20GB upwards.

Any use?

Any would be great as long as they work!

I've managed to get one of the pc's up and running so far, and that's been claimed by one of the blokes already!

Hopefully the rest of the blokes will realise that this is quite a good opportunity!
