sorry another coilover topic

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a vrs and would like to get some coilovers, now the car is used daily so the ride needs to be acceptable. At the same time i dont want to spend a fortune, what would people recommend??

I have done some research on FK coilovers and i see they have a wide range some of which are not to badly priced, i have heard mixed reviews on these some saying they are mint and others saying they fall apart easily, has anyone had any experience of these?

The last thread up seemed to come to the conclusion that FK streetlines were OK fro the money but Damian at DPM reckoned the JOM coilocers were a little better. To be honest I would expect that a lot of the £200ish coilovers are very similar in design, if not in some cases the same coilovers rebranded. How long they last will be pot luck like a KKK turbo.

Thanks for the reply, i was looking at spending more in the regions of 400-500 for the coilovers. I personally cant see the 200 units lasting too long especially as a daily driver on really bad quality roads

In the 4-5 hundred range i went with weitec

** edit : hi-con gt is the model iirc **

Where did you get them from mate if you dont mind me asking and how are you finding them?

Indeed, if that's your budget it sounds like the weitecs are the best bet by all accounts.

Got mine from damian @ dp performance, he tends to reccomend them also  .... ive had them fitted around 10 months now, had them quite low last summer, but currently up on stilts for the winter at the minute :giggle: ..... seem a good quality product, easily adjusted several months after 1st fitting them without any problems,[some kits wont adjust after a few months due to seizing up], i wanted as comfy set up as possible as i only use the car on road and as my daily driver, they are not too bad really, although the state of the roads in derbyshire at present are shocking! so that makes it seem worse than it is i think, but if your set on coilovers then at your budget i would say go for weitecs, any other queries let me know, hope this helps

+1 for Weitec Hicon GTs. I've had mine on for a week now and love them.

The car handles so much better and looks alot better to.

Big thanks to Damian at DPM. He's a top guy!
