Hi everybody.

I am pleased to have joined this site.

I really need advice and help. I have a second hand 2000 Skoda Fabia 1.4. THe driver door window will go down but not back up. Everything else is working OK inc. passenger window. Garage have said I need a new motor at the cost of £132 as theycannot fix it. Can anyone please advise?

THank you :-(

Hi and welcome aboard.

Did it amake a crunching noise when it stopped working and if you operate the switches can you hear a whirring? If so it's probably just broken one of the plastic brackets on the mechanism rather than a dead motor. A £4 part but it means stripping the door apart to repair it.

Welcome.

Is the window stuck in the down position? Most likely problem is the broken plastic bracket on the mechanism, this usually results in changing the door carrier, which is around £70.
