Have had a flat battery this morning, so i have replaced the battery and checked the volts when at 2000rpm and got 14.8v so im sure the alternator is working correctly.

My question now is when unlocking the fabia vrs 53 plate it makes two horn sounds after unlocking and never did this before. Any ideas

Never heard of that before! Could just be a weird side effect of the battery running down. Is the battery now fully charged? Brand new ones don't tend to come fully charged, so will need a decent run to get fully topped up.

After this I'd expect this horn issue to disappear. The horn unlock signal is a single 'blip' anyway, not two separate soundings.

On my MKI Octavia, MKI Superb, MKII Superb and MK5 Golf it has always been 1 chirp to lock and 2 chirps to unlock.

It is strange that this has suddenly been enabled though :S

Ah right. Thought it was one for both lock and unlock. Mind you I only ever activate it on lock; don't need to know audibly that it's unlocked as otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in
