Settings on new Elegance

Featured Replies

Having ordered my new Elegance 2.0 TDI DSG last September (and being promised delivery in Jan), it will finally arrive at the dealer next week (and go on an '11' plate).

Are there any options I should ask them to configure via their system during the PDI? DRLs are the only one I can think of but don't want to be kicking myself later for not asking ....

Thanks.

Depends on what options you took with the car.

If you have Maxidot, then you can adjust quiet a few things through that rather than have the dealer do it.

Thanks, it does have Maxidot.

You can ask the dealer to do some stuff, but often they say they can't..................however if you can persuade them or ask nicely you can ask them to turn on if not already activated, cornering fogs, switch off the annoying seat belt chime, and activate "staging"(when you switch on engine, the dials do a full sweep, useless really but looks quite cool).

If they say they can't do any of the above then contact a friendly VCDS owner local to you.

There are two additional features which I would liked to have switched on had I known about them at the time of delivery.

1. Activate the second nearside rear fog light.

2. Activate the front fog lights instead of the head lights if you have the coming/leaving home feature (auto lights)

Some people like

the anti-hijack feature which locks the doors when you exceed 10mph

the setting that unlocks the door when you remove the ignition key

hazards flash under emergency braking

having the teardrop wipes turned off to stop screen smear after using the washers

there are many more!!!!

Those first two settings can be done in the maxidot. I would have thought DRL's would be enabled by default now, as aren't they law from this month for new cars?
