Rear disc replacements

Featured Replies

Hi,

Rear discs/pads are quite low, and I'm getting them done next week by my local independent.

Since I got the car (with 10k on it), it's made a noise from the rear under braking for the first 10-15 mins of driving. Had it checked once, but Skoda just said it's rusting of the rear discs, which is normal as it's exposed etc.

Just wondering if there's some other magic pad/disc combo that this doesn't happen with that I could change to?

Help/suggestions much appreciated :)

The new pads and discs will be fine mate. They seem to scab over more when they are lower/used. I had a similar issue with some heavy rusting of the discs and replaced the lot. since then its been loads better.

I opted for these and although cheap they have been spot on for 8k now.

Looks good, I'll give them a go I think, thanks :)

Tend to change my rear discs & pads every 2/3 years, simple enough job.

Got my own wind-back tool c/o E-Bay £16.00, and with discs and pads, somewhere around £28.50 for both.

As most of braking is at the front, the rears soon rust and you expect grinding to take place, after 12 months,

any initial first time braking for that day are used, the pads gotta scrape off the bloody rust off the rear discs.
