Get something like this http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/zenec-zenc524-navigation-touch-screen-bluetooth-ipod-p-15514.html one it will fit, and two you can take it with into your next car, do not buy the later shaped ones that are like the originals, once you've bought it it's only any good in a VAG car with the correct opening, the other way means you just need the facia to fit whatever car you have next and you're away again.

There are other sat nav systems about, in my case when our superb was up and running, i installed a blaupunkt rome nav 55e, that came with one cd and that covered all of europe and the uk.The main advantage was that it was a single din fitting, which meant you kept your oddmets sliding box and it needed no speed pulse in order to generate distance and speed. It is fit and go, has a colour screen, very clear voice recognition through thecar front speakers, has a built in radio, cd mp3 player and of course the nav cd.

The sound quality is excellent and there are litterally loads of adjustments one can make to suit one's preference. Also it has a removable facia, and you can take the front off for added security, rendering the unit useless for some would be thief. They arent made anymore unfortunately, but they are sold on ebay, which incidentally is where i bought mine, and it was an absoloute bargain.Expect to pay around £120-180 depending on usage. But then again the choice is yours.Like supurbia's info, the unit he showed looks rather nice installed, where as the one i had being a single din did protrude out ever so slightly, but that didnt bother me...as i could remove the front, where as his unit has to be taken complete..and if that goes walkies your talking a lot of money..unless you have it insured

if you type into ebay double din satnav there are lots of modern upto date choices which are better value than fitting a dx unit.

My DX system has worked well although you can find yourself showing to be in the middle of fields when you come across the occasional bit of new road.

I do have a spare sealed / boxed TeleAtlas 2005/6 Western Europe main roads CD (not DVD) if anyone fancies going a bit further afield. Tenner inc postage - give me a call 07768 731435 if interested. :smirk:

What type of files can be played by skoda navi dx system?(video music)?

What type of files can be played by skoda navi dx system?(video music)?

You need a cd player to play cd's (ie in the boot). The slot on the player itself is for the sat nav disc only.

I believe the CD player only plays cd (ie not mp3 etc).
