The plug-n-play aspect of STS remap systems got me a thinking.

What's to stop 5 people chipping in and buying 1 unit. then taking that unit and remapping each car in turn?

Is the box locked down via software to stop this kind of thing?

The map on the STS is specific to the ECU of each car.

The unit locks to the car once a non-standard map is written to it. It does unlock once the standard map has been reprogrammed.

There is a multi-use version of the STS but it's much more expensive :)
