Adjusting High Beams

Featured Replies

I have a Superb2 with the flashy swivelling headlights and the dip beam lighting is fantastic, the high beam is too, but the inner pair if highbeams, thats the Halogen ones shine up in the air big style.

Are they independantly adjustable or do they adjust with the HID's? They do not have any manual adjustment facility, so I wondered if the VCDS could do them?

I do not want to adjust the HIDs with the adaptive beam patterns as they are spot-on, but what use are a pair of highbeams that shine at aircraft?

Aren't the halogen lights the DRLs? Ie. they aren't for use at night?

No, DRL's are down next to the fogs, the inner pair of lights are additional high beams for aircraft search duties.

Halogens light up in conjunction with main beam HID at night, and are used for flashing duties when the headlights are off. To adjust them is a complex operation as they are part of the main lamp unit, You need to adjust them by moving the whole lamp unit on its adjustment screws, and then you'll need to use the dealer to adjust the AFS lamps because they will have shifted during the adjustment, as they are not DIY due to their complexities.

I'd probably be best to leave them then as the dip is great and I'm not risking a dealer buggering that up. They should have been set right from the factory :| .

Thanks for info
