Fabia 1.2 HTP (6v, 59bhp)

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have convinced the wife to buy a Fabia, (08 plate, 11,000 miles) took it for a spin last night and was very impressed with it, drives like a bigger car, seems very spacious and only really notice the lack of power on very steep hill's.

Looking over the car, i noticed it has no engine or battery cover?

Can anyone confirm if this came as standard? It is the 'classic' basic model.

Kind regards,

Neil.

No engine or battery cover on my 1.2 70hp, I shouldnt worry as it looks better without it

No battery or engine cover on these. Must admit I had to ask the question when I bought mine as I was convinced somebody had forgotten to replace them in the workshop :giggle: Totall agree, they look rather sweet as they are, less weight to carry too and I don't buy the 'sound proofing' theory. Engine covers are purely cosmetic. It's a case of what floats yer boat

Thanks guys, puts my mind at rest. On another note, i cant find the power steering thingy majiggy to check the level??

Good point that, its an electro-hydraulic set up but no idea where the fluid goes! Its not in the manual either, I wonder if its a sealed for life unit or does it share fluid with anything else?

Look down behind the headlamp in front of the battery for hydraulic fluid reservoir.
