How do I replace the side lights?

Featured Replies

My left side light which is that really small plug in bulb needs replacing. I tried doing this myself as it's normaly very easy. The problem is I can't get my hands in the small gap unless I remove the airfilter box! Is it safe for me to do this or is there an easier way to replace the bulb?

M1 or 2 ? if it is a 2 remove the headlamp, much easier

IT's possible to get your hand down but it's tricky...

On a mk1, isn't the air filter box behind the battery, and the headlight in front of it?

On the mk1, you can get a bit more room by taking the battery box cover and your watch off. Having done this, I could change the sidelight bulbs, and I have big hands!

Do they just pull out?

With Ken on this one- disconnect the battery, take the lid off ,remove the battery box, and there's oodles of room. Sounds horendous, but it's easier done than writing about it .
