Skoda Octavia 1.9tdi 2001 Brake problem!

Featured Replies

Replaced all the pads and then when tested the brakes the pedal goes hard then after a few seconds down to the floor! Bleeded the system up but still no joy still does the same! When the pedal goes hard and just as it goes soft then down I hear alittle bit of air then to the floor! Checked all the brake pipes and all dry and solid!

I have never in all my years had this problem while changing a set of pads!

I done a manual bleed then a air pressure bleed via a kit that uses air form a tyre! No leaks anywhere though!

I am now stuck but really need to get my car back on the road asap!!!!

Help please ??

Thank you!

Ps. I forgot to say the pedal only goes half way down before going hard...

Cheers!

The MK1 Octavia has bleed nipples on the master cylinder, try bleeding the master cylinder. If you have got air in the ABS block it may need bleeding with the help of diagnostic equipment.
