Hi guys!

I've just bought myself an '01 Octavia Elegance TDi and thought I'd sign up for the site, as I'll be looking to change a few things about it and any tips and advice would be much appreciated.

:)

The stereo is dire.

Replace it at the earliest opportunity :D

Alright guys.

An Alpine CDA-9831R is on it's way, I'll probably be putting in my old Alpine 12-Disc too when I get chance ;)

Already fitted the Dragon Performance tuning box too, I'm just tweaking the setting now.

A wise plan.

It's pretty easy to make up a bracket to fit a different changer to the standard mounting points like the pictures here.

Cheers, that's one of the things I was going to be asking about in time! There's not a huge rush, I can make do with the single slot on the new HU.

I've had my old Alpine HU so long it's got a tape slot instead, otherwise I would have fitted by now.

I just used a couple of flat metal T-pieces as sold in Wilkinsons for under a quid.

Drilled two holes in each for the screws on the sony changer , then a single larger hole for the bolt where the OEM changer attached and that holds them in place very firmly
