For anyone interested and not following my cars build thread I thought I'd share my results from today...

It made 240.1bhp with 321.2ft/lb which I'm really happy with. I do still think that the torque reading is low though, when we had Briskoda's rolling road day all the diesels were making low torque (mine made only slightly more than standard) but overall I'm happy. I had a little play with a TDI Cupra that made 243bhp and 332ft/lb and I think I was slightly pulling on him so really can't complain with how the car drives etc...

Is this road intended? You'd be lucky to get that thing through an MOT test.... Also it looked like the turbo burnt some oil mid-point? Last question - Can it put the power down?

He sailed through an MOT a month or so ago....

After being taken for a spin yesterday, I can confirm that this car definitely shifts :o

It all depends where the torque is being made. If you are making peak torque at 2500, then its probably the same as this car, as torque is a function of BHP/revs. The more revs peak torque is achieved at, the lower the figure will appear. This is why my car is at 275bhp, but torque is around 370/380 lb @ 3500 revs ish.

Car looks like it's running well then, just need to get the brembo's on and you can start enjoying it a bit more!

/\ exactly, alot of places manipulate the figure by spiking boost earlier in the rpm range to achieve a higher torque figure,

as torque is a function of BHP/revs.

The above is incorrect.... bhp is calculated using the following, bhp = rpm x torque, divided by 5252.

If you know what the bhp is you can transpose the formula, to torque = (5252 x bhp), divided by rpm.

As already said on your build thread lovely car, mass of time money and effort spent in a fairly short time :thumbup:

Have been watching your main build thread and I must say I love what you've done to it. Would love to have the money to get mine up to where you have yours.

Will continue to watch your build thread with interest. Hopefully you've got a few more bits & pieces you want to do to it ;)
