mk1 vrs petrol non start

hi there guys i have a really annoying proble my vrs wont start second time in two weeks it turns over but dose not fire have checked to make sure cambelt is there and all is fine when i open the drivers door i cannot hear the fuel pump prime which i used to be able to so called rac out and he spent 2 hours trying to fix it but to no aval last week had a local garage look at it and they said it was a wiring fault and traced it back to the fuel relay and they said they had fixed it but 4 days later it wont fire the rac man said the injectors wherenot pulsing checked with a proper bulb so ether crank sensor or cam sensor and im wondering if anyone has any ideas i would be very greatfull if anyone can help

You could be guessing all day long without having had any fault codes read. As a guess I would say have a look at the relays under the bonnet, based on a similar problem encountered some years ago. If I recall correctly, there are two relays in a holder under the bonnet and the problem was with the grey one that supplied power to the ECU.

You need to be careful when checking with a bulb, as bulbs draw current and an excessive current doesn't do the electronics any good.

well went into a local garage today and they cannot find the problem and there obd equipment wont communicate with the ecu so i think u could be right mate will keep informed
