Couple of RARB questions

Featured Replies

Ive decided on getting a whiteline rarb for my vrs. Missed the GB on here but they have an identical one on seatcupra.net so ive cheekily signed up! So my questions are

1.Will there be any fitting problems due to my car being lowered 25mm on eibach springs?

2.Is it an axle stand job or can i do it with the car backed up onto ramps?

3.They come as bare metal dont they? So will it rust?

Thanks

1. no, it will fit fine

2. you can do it either way

3. there not bare metal, so it wont rust

Thanks Willcox, have you got a pic of the join on the left or right shock area.

not entirely sure on why, but I'm pretty sure the suspension should be under load (as if the car was sat on the road) when you fit the RARB, so you'd be better off reversing the car up a pair of ramps or putting the stands under the spring cups

Correct, bolts must be tightened with springs under load. No harm in using axle stands to fit it, but you'll have to drop it onto the floor to finish the job..

How much does the whiteline one cost?

+ 1 Fitted mine using ramps, much easier way too.

How much does the whiteline one cost?

£125 on seatcupra.net from the group buy.

sounds like a nice price!

Anyone fitted one to a standard car like mine? (factory soggy suspension, 14inch wheels, 100bhp TDI engine)

Will it make the handling nervous on such a set up?
