Hi Max, gonna look just like the one off the adverts!

Proud of you for being sensible with the spec, no need to whack up the price by adding needless options. I kept mine to the very basics Car wont be worth any more come trade-in, decent colour combo will be all that matters. Loads of people are using the VAT deal to load up their cars and ending up paying near enough the original basic retail price for one; each to their own and all that but I dont see the point myself.

Yep me too !

Estate, red, parking sensors, cruise, satnav

Should be along in May .....

Couldn't ignore the 20% off and when the price of the Polo was announced there was no contest

Sounds a good deal, look forward to seeing the pics.

Bloody brilliant deal, who was that with?

I was thinking that mate, that is a cracking deal.

Davy

Nice Deal,

What Interior colour did you go for?

I would have gone for Climate Control Air Conditioning aswel, but its not essential more of a nice to have.

Just got the annoyingly long waiting time to put up with. Mine is due to be built this week :) can't wait.

Congratulations, now enjoy the wait !

Keep us posted with build times etc etc.

All the best

Cheers guys,

I was lookin at the climate control, as it does look better but i perfer to save the near £200 and put up with normal air con :p

Btw, the deal i got was from GMPdrivercare, which was a broker to birmingham dealer (allelectric.co.uk). then i went to all 4 of my localish dealers asking for a price-match, which the guys in Watford (palmers) matched and threw in parking sensors for free :)

Just the devilish wait now, he said 20 weeks :( hope its sooner as i loved the performance of the vrs on my test drive!!!

Cheers guys max.

Agreed Max. When we were looking to buy a Fabia estate the toss up was between a 1.2 TSi 105 DSG Elegance (missus choice) and the vRS (mine). We ended up testing the vRS and a 1.2 TSi 85 SE (nearest to the 105 Elegance dealer had). The vRS had climatronic. I have to agree asthetically it does look nicer than the Climatic and I kept bugging the wife that I wanted it purely for that reason, particularly given that the Elegance had it. However when trying to use it if found it a real pain. The turn dials for the temp and fan speed offer no feedback so I found I was either achieving nothing by turning them or changing things too much, found it really fiddly and a real distraction.

Afterwards drove the SE with normal air con and realised how much more sense it made, sure it doesnt look quite so nice but its so much less fiddly. I decided there and then I'd stop being a brat and forego it. In any case its not really manual air con its semi automatic climate control as it does keep a constant temperature via a sensor, it just doesnt offer automatic distribution or fan control. Wife had climatronic on her old 03 Ibiza 1.9 130 PD Sport (nice car, fast but bad build and electrics!) and thinking back I didnt much like it then....and it broke! My Mk6 Golf GT TDi has Climatic so if its good enough for that its good enough for a £14.5 supermini I think!

Was a funny situation the whole car change thing, we have a baby on the way and wife decided after the test drive that whilst the vRS was loads of fun, the ride was too firm (for the baby) and she was determined to have the Elegance. I started sulking (I think this is normal behaviour for a married man!) and we agreed whichever car had the lower monthly payment would be the one we'd go for. I resigned myself to the fact we'd end up witht the Elegance.

Astonishingly, the vRS having a better residual value after three years worked out a few quid less a month and the wife relented. The phrase happy days doesnt entirely cover it haha!

@ pipsyp, thanks for that, never really used climate control, even though it was in the test car, yet the saleman was operating it. from what you say, it seems that climate is a real pain anyway, so im happy and saving money, cheers :). And btw nice you got your choice on the VRS, awesome estate car, as it doesn't seem to lack performance.

@ jamesdensly the interior i went for was kinda on the spot as i didnt really look too far into the interior colours, but it was between black/red or black/grey, and i went black/grey cause i didnt know if the red would clash with the green exterior paintjob.

Cheers Max, looking forward to getting it just seems so long away! You may know this anyway but strangely the Estate is actually slightly lighter than the hatch (something to do with extra weight being put into the hatch to lower its centre of gravity to improve handling), that along with slightly better aerodynamics (having a longer roofline) means its actually 1mph faster. Wasnt why we chose it of course (baby coming and we have a big dog) but quite funny I thought. Was chuffed when everything went against the missus's favour, doesnt happen often I can tell you!

We've gone for Candy White with Black/grey cloth, Dark Chrome wheels, Parking Sensors and Elec Rear Wins. Got the window option purely to be able to lock the rear windows with kids in the back as they do like to play! I was originally going to go for Black with Black wheels, real stealth wagon but my Golf is black and its just dirty all the time; dont think I could have handled another!

Think Black Grey cloth was the sensible choice. Considered it on ours as I thought it might lighten the cabin a bit but didnt think it would look right. Decided to play it safe!
