Sending attachments in an Outlook mail merge

Outlook 2003 doesn't seem to support sending attachments in mail merge.

I tried it on my home machine (Vista 64 + Office 2003) with a view to running it on machine at work (XP + office 2003). the merged e-mail arrived in my inbox sans attachment.

Whilst I understand that there is a way round this by incorporating VB script, I can't obviously do this on the machine at work.

Is there any other workaround ?

Have Microsoft addressed such a major deficiency yet ?
