What's behind your wheel liner?

Featured Replies

Yesterday, in the sunny weather, I eventually got out and fitted the front mud flaps. As the wise already know, this is a nice easy job. However on unscrewing the wheelwell liners, behind was stuffed with mud and leaves. This on a new to me 3yr old ex Lex leaser.

Maybe an idea for the discerning owner to check theirs?

Yep, it's worth cleaning that out at the end of Autumn every year.

It's on a list of things to do and equally applies to all VW/Skoda models where the drain channels run down the area at the base of the a pillars.

Failure to clean this out can result in a water build up and the potential for some nasty rust over time.

I would never have thought to look but I will do now, thanks for that.

Yep, all sorts get trapped behind them! Tend to do them twice a year.

Yep did my rear ones last year when I had the bumper off, could of grown some nice tomatoes in the rich compost that was lurking behind the liners :giggle:

Got to do the fronts in the next couple of months when I've got the wheels off to change the discs and pads
