de badging

Featured Replies

Have seen a few cars with the rear de badged and like it, just wondered how to go about it without damaging bodywork!

hairdryer and finger nails :)

Heat with a hair drier to soften the adhesive, then slide a credit/store card down the back of the badges between the adhesive and badge (some people recommend fishing line). I put a strip of masking tape directly above the badge to avoid scratching the paint. Once the badges are off you can get the remaining glue off by using a rag soaked in a bit of petrol (or tardis if you have any), then polish it up with a bit if t cut to get rid of the ghosting from where the badges have been all those years.

That's how I went about it anyway, other people may have better ways.

A few good ideas there, thanks for that.

I think the Skoda logo has two location pin holes that'll need filling if removed.

You are correct TriggerFish

This applies to sticky backed badges in general.

Lighter fuel (petrol) breaks the adhesive down, making removal very easy + simple.

Wash with soapy water afterwards, then wax polish area.

No scratch marks or deterioration to paint-work.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
