Help please

Featured Replies

I have a 2005 superb and have recently inherited a problem with my n/s wiper. It almost never sits back in the correct position (intermittent and regular use),although every now and then it will. Now I'm not sure if this is a relay, sensor( if one exists) or motor problem. I've even taken the arm off and reset it to the correct position and still this doesn't work. The o/s wiper always works fine. The first thing that happened was both wipers stopped working altogether but cured itself within 30 mins, (I'm not sure this is related). Has anyone got a reply please?

The Superb wipers are mechanically linked together with a ball-jointed linkage. If the LH wiper is out of synchronism with the RH and if it is not loose on the splines, you have a problem with the linkage.

Follow the instructions for accessing the plenum chamber drains - done to death on this Forum because of the damage it causes - and you will see the motor and linkage assembly in the plenum chamber. It is fixed to the body with 2 or 3 M6 bolts and comes out as a unit. There are some spare ones on eBay if yours is not repairable.

If not already done, sort out the plenum drains and pollen filter holder outer seal whilst you're in there. You may need a puller to get the wiper arms off the taper splines.
