Android phone contacts.

Featured Replies

I recently thought it was time I got my mobile phone up to date, not being rich enough to buy an iPhone I did a bit of research and got myself a motorola defy which runs Android 2.1 software.

The phone connects to the Yeti allows calls to be made and received and even allows me to stream music with the Bluetooth, but it will not allow synchronising of the contacts or call lists.

hopefully there is a simple setting that I have missed, please can anyone help.

You need to turn off your Google contacts as this prevents it from syncing. I haven't needed to sync mine since i got my Galaxy S though as i used the same Sim and the car recognises that and keeps the Phonebook on the bluetooth that it downloaded from my Nokia.

So i would suggest that if you can't get it to sync, copy your contacts to another phone (nokia), then put your sim in that phone, pair it to the car, download address book then this should keep it for when you put the sim back in the Motorola.

Thanks for your reply but I have now solved the problem.

There is a drop down box at the top of the screen on the phone that comes up with the question "do you want to share your contacts"

It really is that simple.

Motorola Defy can now be added to the list of compatable phones.

Ah nice one! Will have to have a look at mine - is it in the notification area?

yes the notification area, it only seems to be there for a few seconds whilst connecting.
