thought I read somewhere that all fabia vrs's that are built from December 04 onwards will now have rear parking sensors as standard.

will someone please enlighten me? did I dream it?

Nope, as far as i know its still an option.

Perhaps you're confused re the various models? - for instance:

Until the end of 2004, the Fabia Classic 54 bhp model is available for

Parking sensors now come as standard on the Elegance 2.0. I recently ordered one. They will be useful to warn me of VRSs on my tail.

parking sensors were not an option when I ordered my Furby vRS - and that (hopefully) ought to be the 2005 model ;)

Now I wonder whether that's because an Elegance 2.0 is so slow... - or a vRS is so fast... :)

Seriously, although I've won a set of reversing sensors in a raffle (Mazda - "worth"

you can retro fit the parking sensors on the vrs big K does it

I could do it myself - just rather put off by the salesman saying there's a problem with the bumpers...

Hey the 2.0 ain't slow at all dude! It's 2.0 litres, and it's light ;) I don't have the Elegance model, I have one of the first 2.0 models that came out in the Comfort version, so I'm missin' plenty of stuff, and that makes the car real light :D I hit 220kmph with my car, AND I went one on one with a Mini Cooper in Dubai and killed it, the 2.0 has a lot more torque than the Mini Cooper. I also raced the Peugeot RC (180bhp) on a busy highway and beat him to our stop too...shameful for 180bhp to lose against 115bhp  I'd love to race a vRS with the 2.0, I reckon it would be a pretty tough call

My dealer says it can easily be retro-fitted for about

big k does it for alot less than that iirc

fabia 2.0rs

killing a cooper well done its only a 1.6 lol

and the pug 206 180 you sure it was a 180 and not the 136 bhp one ???

Oh yes I'm sure ;)

In Dubai the 180bhp model is called the 206 RC, and the 136bhp is called the 206 GTI...(you know how you have different model names for different countries)...and I raced the guy on a high-way (Sheikh Zayed Rd...maybe you've heard of it for being the most dangerous highway in the world, as stated by BBC) for about 5 to 6 KM...picture it...two black hot hatches with kits manoeuvering thru cars...it was AWESOME ...I beat the guy to the point of the road where we split ways...man...one hell of a race, it was good...it actually started when I came up behind the guy and he saw me...so he started really...and I joined in...and kicked him out of the race

About the Mini Cooper..at this point the engine size doesn't really matter for a short race, Cooper S has a 1.6 and it's faster than a Fabia 2.0 (actually tried with a Cooper S...my dad was driving it, and I lost  )...the Cooper and the 2.0 share the same horsepower, but the 2.0 has much more torque...Cooper 150Nm at 4,500rpm vs. 2.0 170Nm at only 2,400rpm...so yeah...and remember I don't have the options of an Elegance 2.0 because mine is a Comfort 2.0, which they don't offer anymore, thus having a pretty light car...somewhere around 1000 kilos.

About parking sensors, I personally think they make cars look ugly...plus I believe a good driver doesn't need them :P

My vRS will have parking sensors on - they are a dealer fit option I believe. My dealer will be fitting them within the next few weeks me thinks.

:gay: get yoooouuuu

For 300 quid I would rely on my driving skillz  - no way I'll pay that for some bits that cost about 20 quid, even with 2 hours labour that should be less than that :|
