just got in my car, and on the dash, just underneath the milage counter. it says OIL with a spanner next to it! does anyone know wot this means. the car has done 15,000 miles! anybody please help!

It means it's ready for it's oil service, or at least it would do if it was set properly. The symbol should have come up before 10,000 miles, but a lot are not reset properly by the dealers. If you search the forum you should be able to find how to reset it yourself.

The reset instructions should also be in the owner's manual...

I take it you had a service @ 10,000 miles or 1 year though.

Dunno, the new fashion seems to be to take it when the car starts flashing lights at you rather than when its supposed to be done

Then again, the amount some dealers charge, I'm not surprised!!
