Nope

The botton only turns off the TC (ASR - Acceleration Slip Regulation), but the esp is still on.

this is true Chris... probably why I haven't had an insurance increase after the fiat, same thing, ESP on all the time.

So, no one knows where this fuse is I guess..

So, no one knows where this fuse is I guess..

The instruction manual says that fuse number 22 does this:

Operating controls for the heating, control unit for air conditioning

system, parking aid, mobile phone, instrument cluster,

steering angle sender, ESP, vehicle voltage control unit, multifunction

steering wheel.

It looks like rmoving fuse 22 will disable the ESP but also a few other things at the same time?

Manual also says,

The ESP system cannot be switched off, only the TCS system can be switched off by

pressing the button  page 134, fig. 127. The warning light   page 30 lights up if

the TCS system is switched off.

The manual is obviously aimed at road use, maybe it can be done via plugging a laptop in?

I was on a Trackday here in Slovenia for two times now and had the same problem. Then, I tried to switch off ESP by removing the 22nd fuse, but the ESP still worked. Plus, none of the lights on the dash board came on. I don't know if I removed the wrong fuse, or not. Plus, I don't know what harm would it do to the gearbox. So we've put it back in and drove with only TCS off. But I must say, that this is a major disadvantage of this car, because I could be faster out of corners without ESP ON. But anyways, my laptimes were around one minute, which is in rang of Civic Type R, Golf GTI...

this is what they normally do, its a safety feature, part of the reason why the insurance is so reasonable, ESP that cannot be turned off. they route the fuse through other vital systems, so if removed, it makes the car undrivable.

What happens if you hold the ESP button down for 5 seconds? The reason I ask is because this is how you disable the driving aids on a BMW. Might be worth a try.

There is no esp botton.. only the TC switch..

get some grippier tyres, and an uprated rear anti roll bar and then the ESP wont be needed as much as the car will have the turn in grip and traction. Also upgrade the brake pads to something more track orientated and the ESP wont fade the brakes as quickly

I'm not so interested in rear axle grip... but I want it to be tail-happy..

the fabia under-steers plain and simple. All std cars do. The ESP interrupts as it tries to reduce the under-steer in its poor attempt at emulating a mechanical LSD. The easiest way to kerb under-steer is with an uprated rear arb. The rear ARB doesn't increase rear axle grip, it stops the roll diagonally hence forces the front corners to grip more. the best mod by far i did on my octavia was the ARBs,and it will be my first mod on the fabia. its also the key to getting more oversteer.

Grippier tyres will mean the ESP has less requirement to interfere as well.

Also dont rule out having the wheel geometry re-aligned to a more aggressive setup. simply adjusting the rear toe will make the back alot more playful

Won't the Esp interfere anyway? If the tail slides, the esp stops the slide...

fair point, maybe ignore the rear toe comment, but if you reduce the under-steer it will reduce the interference of the ESP. quite a few guys have fitted them on the ibiza cupras and said the same as i have. the turn in is hugely improved
