MDI/Ipod through Amundsen Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Finally got my MDI to iphone/ipod lead today and gave it a quick try in the car tonight. Just wanted to post that having the Iphone through the Sav Nav Screen is really really good, seems to scroll very fast and find everything quickly. Sounds great too.

I think this is another reason to spend the £ 500 (less vat) on the Amundsen unit, am more impressed with this as the days go on. It integrates everything so nicely and if a few of you are still on the fence if to get this unit or go with an aftermarket unit then the integration to the car is really really nice and would serious think about going for it. Not sure what other make of cars these days offer a unit like this for the price ? Most are £ 1,000 or more.

I just felt the need to post this as the car is still surprising me with things like this that make it so good and just great value. Well done Skoda.

The MDI is available across the VAG range and it really is worth the money. It's easy to use and navigate especially if you have MFSW and Highline/Maxidot display.

I use a 120GB ipod classic which just stays in the car with my entire music collection on. Is it true on the Fabia the MDI cable is external meaning your ipod/hd/memory stick is on show?

My Dad hasn't yet specced the MDi on his Fabia but would be much better if the MDI cable was in the glovebox or armrest like other VAG models.

Cheers

The cable is external but near the interface there is what i would describe as a ressessed slot which sits under the glove box, quite low so you would not necessarily see the player if you glanced in the car.

Ill try and take a picture at the weekend.
