VRS TSi Exhaust Options MK6 Golf

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I would just like to check if the MY10 VRS shares the exact same exhaust options as the MK6 Golf GTi?

As there are so much more options in the US, and was considering them, as I'm based in Singapore.

Thanks!!

No I dont think it does. Pretty sure the backbox on the gti runs underneath the rear of the bumper (sideways), whereas the vRS runs length ways. I think the downpipe is slightly different too.

Yes, right on both counts. The system on the Octy is obviously a bit longer as well :)

So the only options are the UK brands mentioned in this forum? Out of curiosity, any other European brands that make catbacks for our car? Thanks!

I have to say there is a lot of confusion on this subject, as with the Tfsi compatibilty, looking at Pipewerx DP's, they are different between the vRS and GTi, the main thing being the VW is in 2 parts, but when you look at Blue Flame both are 1 piece down pipes and are the same part number, it doesn't really make sense, I can understand with the Audi A4 which has the Tfsi engine sitting transverse in the engine bay, but technically the DP should be compatible between the vRS/GTi/ED30/S3 and Cupra :S

Obviously the cat back is completely different for the reasons already mentioned.

Where are you based? Outside of the UK? It might help if you include some geographical info in your profile.

DP is a weird one. Maybe ask Jeff at Pipewerx as to the reason why? There must be one - can't see them making two different ones for no reason...

I agree though - between the Octy2/Leon/A3/Golf I see no reason for the route, or distance the DP takes to be any different :|

I updated my details.

How about the Jetta? Cos my friend has a Magnaflow exhaust, and it sounds nice. So since I've to order in, I'm checking my options...

I'm thinking of a getting a 3" downpipe. Milltek & Piper are the only options? Are there any cheaper options available, or is £450-500 the price for one now? Thanks!

Anyone fitted the Jetex exhaust on to their TSi?

Milltek don't list a downpipe and cat for the facelift vRS.
