6 disc changer in boot

Featured Replies

hi, i have a 52 plate octavia ambiente, last weekend, i had a new head unit installed, but forgot to remove the cds from the changer in the boot, as that has now been disconnected i cant get the discs out in the usual manner, is there a manual way to remove the cartridge?

I think (? been several years ?) it may power on when re-connect in the boot ( ie. without old headunit attached ), if you've still got connectors in place that is.

It's powered by the headunit, so it won't eject without it.

There might be an emergency eject hole somewhere, like CD-ROM drives in PC's do.

You might have to temporarily reconnect the headunit to eject it, or dismantle the changer and manually eject the cartridge.

Or find a mate with a VAG changer in the boot and connect yours up to their car....

Never thought of that, but yeah, that would work lol
