I replaced the oil in my SDI 2000 miles ago with Total long life oil, ive just noticed on start up blue smoke that im sure wasn't there before. Could it be the long life oil is too thin and could it cause me any problems? cheers

have a look at the oilcan and looks for the VW spec numbers.

If it has 504.00 or 507.00 it should be OK.

I have a feeling that the SDI is not a PD engine, so I'm not sure what oil you can use. PD engines should use 505.01 spec or they can use the long life stuff.

Just looked on the website and it is approved but just wondering if any one has had any issues with it?

Think im just expecting too much a little blue smoke inst too bad I guess haha

you wouldnt have over filled slightly? could be burning the excess off
