Octavia Elegance Estate roof Bars

HIi am new to the forum, but have had 5 Skodas - a 1952 model (Ithink), 2 Estelles and Octavia Ambiente and now a 2005 Elegance II Estate. Problem is that I bought the car secondhand without the roof bar keys. I have been to dealers and had considerable discussion on email and phone with Skoda UK but cannot replace them. They all tell me they are unavailable. I have seen posts pointing out that they are originally supplied by Thule.Stamped on the locks is 19 and I bought a Thule key marked no19 but it does not fit. They blithely tell me at Skoda UK that a replacement roof bar key and lock set has a recommended retail price of £16.00 GBP and has part number LAS600001 but it is crazy that I should have to drill all the old ones out to replace with these.

It seems hard to believe that no one else has had this problem before.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
