Loan car from Skoda for late delivery of vRS

Featured Replies

I have a Octavia vRS on order since September which still has no build date. I have contacted SUK to ask for a loan car until mine arrived which they declined . I read something on another forum about any car over 18 weeks delivery are entitled to a loan car. I contacted SUK with this information and yes I am entitled to a loan car and I picked up a brand new Octavia last saturday from my local dealer which I can use until mine arrives. I only have to pay for the fuel. Anyone else out there waiting for their vehicle for more than 18 weeks are entitled to a loan car. Your dealer or SUK will not come forward with this information as it is costing them a fortune.

Is it a diesel you have ordered?

I ordered an Octavia Scout DSG late December and they quoted a delivery in early June. The salesman told me that if there was a delay beyond this date, I would get a loan car as they would want mine to sell.

This is music to my ears - my Octy was 'due' in a weeks time but is currently showing as a week 19 build.

SUK told me that I wasn't entitled to a loan car & was told to take it up with the dealer who told me the same.

Matt where did you pick up on this information?

My 1.8 TSI Scout was late in arriving last year, and I got a loan car from my dealer until my car was delivered , this was also because they wanted my trade in.Maybe it only happens if you have a trade in that they have a buyer waiting for.

I kept pushing and ringing Skoda UK and they said anyone who has waited longer than 18 weeks is entitled to a loan car I was told exactly the same as you but thet are nit exactly going to be forthcoming with this information as it is costing them a fortune. We had 2 Vrs on order have already cancelled one Skoda have really messed up .

Alannfrost the dealer is talking complete rubbish anyone who has waited longer than 18 weeks is entitled to a loan car which is what Suk have told me . I am not trading anything in but still got a brand new Octavia to use. You must make you you get what you are entitled to then maybe Skoda will be carefull in the future not to take orders for cars they know they cannot build on time.

Its something Vw do if owners moan enough so I guess Skoda are doing likewise

I spoke to SUK today & they informed me that after 18 weeks I was entitled to a loan/courtesy car.

Mentioned to them that the dealer told me different & they were quite clear. I then rang the dealer again who told me that their dealership doesn't have the facility to loan cars. After a bit of the usual salesman guff I told him that SUK are adamant and I gave him the date I require my loan car from ;)

The call concluded with the salesman telling me that 'he needed to speak to his people' :dull:

I don't get it!! With so many folks waiting delivery on new cars and having the build dates put back, how can they have "spare" brand new Octavias lying around to supply as loan cars?
