Bad Luck.

Yours must be the fourth in as many weeks. We must be keeping Autoglass in business.

Mine had to be replaced a couple of weeks ago. Do you know that Autoglass will change the windscreen at your place of work? Mine came to my work and did it there, no need to waste your holidays.

It is not just Yeti's, my wife C3 has a very large crack at the moment and we are waiting for a date from Autoglass for the replacement. I assume it is down to the toll that winter has taken on our roads, more loose chippings than before.

Having had mine replaced in January, I was driving down the A1 yesterday and a stone hit the screen - nothing like the impact that caused the damage last time - but a nasty enough crack, and I had a good look when I had arrived - I am pleased to say I haven't been able to locate even a little chip. It could so easily have been another screen needed... Hope Ivor's turns out as good as mine did, Autoglass did a good job on it, I must say.

My employers are morons, they won't allow tradespeople onto company property so I will have to drive 'off-site' for them to change it emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Must be the time of the year. My wife's Suzuki Alto got a chip just left of centre of windscreen. Before we had a chance to contact Autoglass I noticed a crack top left that was creeping down the screen. When I looked at the outside I found a microscopic chip about 4mm from edge of screen, hidden by the black edging of the screen. Autoglass replaced it yesterday and the fitter said that any damage within about 6mm of the screen edge will always result in a crack and the further towards the centre of the screen the more likely a repair is possible.

Another one bites the dust..............emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

another "spare" I need to budget for

Insurance jobbie........

Just had a new screen on my Passat (heated + rain sensors) New screen fitted and all working properly. So praise for Autoglass for their friendly efficient service.

I think these windscreens illustrate the poor state of our roads which will probably deteriorate even more.

I can't believe how bad they are getting.

The latest idea is to 'recycle' a road. They tear it up and then replacing by adding new 'binding' chemicals.

I suppose its better than doing nothing at all. emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Thought I heard somewhere 'AUTOGLASS' was gone bust, or am I simply hearing things. LOLemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Thanks for that 'AndyC' emoticon-0148-yes.gif

It was Autowindscreens that went under.

... but Markerstudy have bought the rights and saved 250 jobs so a company called Auto Windscreens is currently trading.

We were just saying that yesterday what a disgrace they are, just bump after pothole after bump, absolute shambolic. God knows what the Europeans must think when they come over here and get off the motorways.

Had to take SWMBOs Yaris for a new windscreen last week- small crack at nearside of windscreen quickly spread across 25% of width. Autoglass could come to me , but earliest appointment was 7 days after I phoned. (thursday to thursday), I took it in to nearest depot 15 miles away and they fixed it on the Monday morning. Guy at Autoglass said when Autowindscreens went under they had 10,000 outstanding jobs, and Autoglass were picking up a large proportion. As well as their seven liveried vans outside at 8am they also had two white hire vans as well being loaded with screens.

Must say I was impressed with Autoglass when they changed my screen. Came when they said after a courstey phonecall. Went round the car first to record damage and again afterwards.

Quick careful and efficent.

Andy
