Octavia/Elegance/Water Pump

Featured Replies

Nasty day - emoticon-0106-crying.gifemoticon-0106-crying.gif time to shell out £400 for the cam belt + water pump + coolant.

In an earlier topic I recall mention of metal impeller pumps or plastic impeller

pumps being fitted to Octavias (possibly relevant to all Skodas). The metal

impeller stated as having a longer life than the plastic impeller.

This morning I spoke to the Tech. Office at Skoda Customer Care about this

matter. I am now advised that Skoda do not know what material the impellers are

made from. There is only one part no. for the water pumps bought by Skoda.

So, it would seem that until the pump arrives at the service station, one cannot

know what impeller is fitted. I would have hoped for a pump with a metal impeller

but that may not be the case.

Anyone got any further info or views on this one?

Regards

Lojong
