Orange Broadband - anyone else have issues?

Featured Replies

Was off almost all of yesterday, and tonight only working using openDNS - cant seem to get my Desire to use these DNS servers.

Am online, but very slow, and frequently giving timeout errors. In dian support just says give it more time, and getting lots of calls so not an issue with my setup or line.

Hi,

Here has been pretty slow for months. Again have been having dropouts and very slow especially in the evenings. Have been in contact with orange, generally dealt with lethargy and indifference occasionally someone shows interest and tries to sort something out, but have oveer the last week slipped back.

Our village is one of the lead out locations for the latest tranch of high-speed cable, BT infinity. We registered interest, but have had no reply from BT despite it being available NOW. We all blame BT for using their control to screw the other ISP's and force/entice us poor suckers into their maw.

Orange seem to have no interest in keeping us informed about future possibilities, even when asked the direct question. If they wernt all such a bunch of ....ers, I'd swop, but the hassle of migrating, re-regeristing with dozens of fora etc.

Any way sorry for the rant.

Hope your prob improves soon.

Get a gmail or similar email and use that.

Never use the isp email address. I use my isp email only for them to contact me.

if sky did the LLU round here, I'd be off

Aside from being cut off for 6 weeks last year after BT messed with the line its been trouble free for 4 years. Never struggled when I've needed bandwidth.

My biggest complaint is the lead time on getting service at a new address. 6 weeks for a new line from them, or 2 weeks to get a PO line and then another 2 weeks for Orange to set up.

BT would be quicker but no thanks and I'm not giving my custom to Sky unless I can absolutely have to.

Was with Orange for a painful two years. Hateful minions of Satan. Ditched them in the end and went with Madasafish.

Best thing I've ever done in my life apart from the first time I had sex/got drunk/used drugs/learned to drive/became a dad/climbed a mountain/didn't have to wait the the council tip/found everything I wanted to buy in Sainsburys in one trip/narrowly missing stepping on a dog turd when out walking . . . . . .

I dont mind Orange, but mainly as i got a very, very good deal from them - it goes something like:

£4.89 / month - Unlimited BroadBand, Free 2nd Line with Local number, Free UK & International Land-Line calls from this line, and Free Orange Mobile calls... oo, and free Caller Display...

I did have a problem last year (September time) where my connection was down for 11 days... on the 11th day, i shouted at them, that i have a BSc in Computer Science (which i actually do) and for them to fix it, that it was not my problem. - customer service from India was a Joke... good job it was free from Orange Mobile phone!

It was fixed within an hour, and has been good as gold since. With them now for 3 years, and overall, very pleased.

Remember, no matter who you go with, it's still BT's line and exchange that will be messing you around! - unless you have cable or BT Fibre Optic... which none of is in our area :(
