Featured Replies

hi people

i very recently bought a fabia vrs but find to very dissapointed in the mpg i am getting(driving very carefully)on 33mpg around town and 45 on a long distance is this normal??? i have read it might be the maff sensor is there a way of checking this out as i dont want spend the money just to have the same problem or is there something else it can be,car is standard with no mods . thanks in advance wayne :(

Welcome to Briskoda mate.

Has it been serviced as and when?

A tech will be along shortly and know an answer most likely.

Shouldn't get 45mpg on a run - mine gets 60mpg on a long run.

Check the air filter, Skoda state 40,000 miles service interval for it, but it needs changing every 10,000 Miles. Diesel MPG is drastically effected by outside temperature, so if it's cold where you live, expect it to improve when it gets warmer. Also have the car scanned for fault codes, a faulty sensor can kill the MPG, especially the coolant temp sensor.

If you need a maf sensor I have a working one you can have for not much money.

Stunts.

thanks

i will try the filter first see how that goes if that fails are we saying that it must be the maf sensor????

engine seems to be running fine with no smoke and plenty of pull (although not trying to push to hard on accelerator) how much are you looking for if i can prove this is the problem ???
