RClick help

Featured Replies

I have a Rclick which I have carefully prepared a loom for, following the instructions to the letter and soldered the loom in preparation before fitting to my missus car.

I also have a relay for the boot release (which is positive) but not fully wired in yet.

However I have a problem.

I got basic connections needed for the remote unlocking to operate

I've got the negative from pin10 from the headlight switch socket and the 12v accessory fuse for the power.

The negative has the yellow, yellow/black, and black all together per the instructions to the neg.

There are a few more awkward steps I've yet to do as I cannot easily reach the XS6 socket, for the lights. XS5 for the boot release. The problem is even with the bolts out the dash RHS it still won't pull completely out the way although you can work around this but they will be a pain.

Its almost complete and I know which wires to go to I think, with the exception of the unlocking itself which is not playing ! I spliced this from a combination of the white and white/black (with resistor) suggested by the kit but its just not playing. I also have the green wire in place (after the resistor) where I have soldered the white, whiteblack and green together before they reach the negative door trigger.

I can hear the unit clicking on the lock/unlock buttons but that's it. It seemed to have a pretty good connection with the scotchlock. Is it possible that this could be the cause of the problem ?

The car responds to the key and locks/unlocks

It will neither lock or unlock with the kit

I have a resistor in place on the B/W as suggested (to yellow blue on the wires going to the door - in fact tried both on the inside leading to the door) neither work.

To be honest if there are any leckies out there I'd gladly accept some assistance right now !

Any tests I can do, its based on a negative unlock so how do I check for the "right" wire playing from the cars side ?

Do I take a test bulk to 12v, and then the other side against the yellow/blue wires when the door is operated ?

I have currently removed the fuse for the lighter socket and put the car back together.

I already got my Rclick "flip" key working so this is the final hurdle !

I found out, when I was searching for 180 ohm resistors they included 180k on ebay so I got the wrong ones!

I hope thats all it is

Anyone know how to dismantle the dash easily to access the connectors at the top ? I took five torq out and helped the right side flex but it still won't pull away totally so makes it difficult to access those connectors like XS5, XS6 etc...anyone ?

Some feedback for anyone doing this job in future ( the responses on here are overwhelming, just as well there are knowedgeable and skilled people on the fabia 1 forums eh )

Anyway I got the rclick working mostly, except window closure for some reason.

Forget the brown wires, it works perfectly without and you still get some lights and side indicators flashing on unlock !

I used the green into the blacks for the negative release for window shutting. However doesn't seem to work on this model, sadly so no idea whats going on there.

Scotchlocks are useless - brave it and go for proper soldered connections. This may have made the difference with the failure to lock.

The fused 15a socket for the accessory socket is the place to get power. Whip the back of the fuse panel and just get the wire for the accessory socket that come out after the fuse. If the unit blows it will then only take out the accessory socket!

I think the boot release (you will need a relay) is definitely positive system so you have to wire the relay into the negative. You can get to xs5 (you can trace the wires going down the loom and get to their lowest point where its easier to solder them in).

Haven't done this yet but I believe its just wiring the rclick positive diagram for the relay with pin 3 for the locking solenoid and pin 6 for the switch side.

Again big thanks to the rather clever and skillful lot on the FABIA ONE forums !
