just ordered my first skoda vRS

Featured Replies

Hi all my names Steve and I'm shouting at ya from Belfast. Been lurking on the forums for a few days thought it was about time I posted. I have ordered a black vRS estate with black alloy wheels, gonna have a stealth vRS :) didn't order any options other than the wheels and paint, bit tight this weather, dealer has said 10 weeks but that was last Monday so I'm gonna ring tomorrow and see if I can get a delivery date. Hope I don't get sucked into the blackhole lol :)

Spk to you all soon Steve

Nice one Steve, we've ordered a Candy White estate with Dark Chromes, considered the all black approach but the missus wasnt keen (going to be her everyday car).

Good luck with delivery, we ordered our car at the end of Jan, had a build date of mid May but its now disappeared from the system, no idea when the car is due now. Skoda's ordering process is awful!

Welcome to the madhouse :)

Keep us posted on how your getting on.

hi guys

thanks for the replies, phoned the dealer today to see what my delivery date is and guess what ?

"it's got us captain were being sucked in" - private frank skoda pike

"pike you stupid boy" - captain mainwaring

"dont panic mr.mainwaring" - lance corporal jack jones

no delivery date - no build week either but the dealer says this isn't unusual, maybe looks like im going to be sucked in to the blackole like the others on this thread http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/194264-the-skoda-black-hole-ordering-system/

just gonna hang in there and hopefully the car will be on time, we have a new baby coming third week of june our first and would really like the car here and sorted, the new babys one of the reasons why i picked the estate

@ pipsyp i picked the car the wife got to pick the colour and wheels lol :)

Cpt - if things run to form hopefully your have a build date within 4 weeks (or sooner)of your order.

I spoke to the dealer every couple of weeks, did not want to hound him too much as you get more information from these forums :giggle:

I ordered mine last week (candy white vrs estate), i've also not had a build or delivery date but initial quote was 16-20 weeks if not in stock, apparently there is limited stock available so they tell me but I reckon the chances of them having my exact spec in stock are slim to none!

Congratulations! Don't think you'll be disappointed. Post up some pics of it when you finally emerge from the black-hole and have taken delivery!

hi, we ordered a vrs september with a delivery date of march, still waiting, when we manage to speak to salesman[he never returns phone calls] never get a proper explanation, been told everything from problems getting diesel engines to them blaming **** ups at skoda! according to salesman its still not showing up on system as a defintite date for it being made yet! think next time i order a new car it wont be a skoda the way things are going and definite wont go back to the garage we have ordered this one from

Erm, I'm not sure about the problem getting hold of diesel engines. You do know the new vRS is petrol only?

sorry its a octavia vrs, ordered september and still no build date according to garage, getting fed up with the garage attitude, the odd time we contact them they seem to evade us, think its time to pay them a visit and demand a few answers instead of being so easy going,

Ah, that makes more sense then! lol

Have you tried calling skoda customer services directly?

lol still finding my way round forum, realised after i posted it was on the fabia thread. havnt tried skoda direct yet, i will have to have a look for the contact number, woudnt feel so frustrated if the garage would communicate with me,if it wasnt for the good deal we got vat free i would be tempted to cancel, but reading this forum i realise we are not the only ones having probs

There's another thread on here that says if you call the customer services number on the skoda website they will be able to give you more details than the dealer. I think all you need is your name and where you ordered.

thanks leedsvrs.is it a skoda uk website, going to pay the garage a visit this week and will try to find the contact number for skoda. was guaranteed march delivery and told it would prob be here before then, so took this month off work expecting it to be here by now!!

No problem. If you don't like the answers they give you then threaten to cancel and see if you get any further. No build date for a September order is ridiculous.

think i would do them a favour if i cancelled, the car has gone up in price a few thousand since ordered, threatened that a few month back, the garage just said it not their fault they have no info on it, they said they dont get paid either until the car is here, will pay them a visit and hopefully speak to a manager. time for some tough talking with them now!
